AZ high school swaps textbooks for iBooks
Wired Magazine has the story. I've never been a fan of textbooks. iBooks? That's another matter. I think everyone should have one. Better yet, a PowerBook.

bit (n.): small portion, degree, or amount; brief amount of time; moment; short scene or episode in a theatrical performance; entertainment routine given regularly by a performer; fundamental unit of information having just two possible values, as either of the binary digits 0 or 1.

I read another version of this same story in a newspaper a couple of days ago. I think it's great.
I had a long talk with Colin last night, and among other things, we talked about the technological revolution and how the Internet, in particular, has changed the ways we interact with each other. I have friends in cyberspace now whom I could not possibly have known any other way. Of course, we all know people who spend all their time in chatrooms and such, and that's no substitute for face-to-face contact with real, live people. But the cyber-version is a good thing to have in addition to that.
