This man makes me sick, and reading about his testimony was chilling enough, so I can imagine hearing it would have been far worse. I just don't understand people who glory in killing and slaughter and destruction the way he does.
I do have some mixed feelings about what his punishment should be, however. I am a firm believer in capital punishment, but in his case, martyrdom is what he wants, so it might be worse, from his perspective, to have it denied. If he is executed, I would like to see one final twist: that he be sprayed with pig fat just as he is being strapped to the gurney in preparation for the lethal injection. Muslims, or at least some of them, believe that any contact with pig fat will bar them from heaven, unless they first undergo some kind of purification ritual -- which in Moussaoui's case, would be denied him.
