An enemy worthy of death

A suicide bomber drove up to a Humvee where 4 US soldiers were handing out candy to Iraqi children and detonated a bomb killing 24 children, and 1 US soldier.

What unspeakable evil.

Exactly. That is the only proper thing to call it ... unspeakable evil done by a monster.

This was sickening. Whenever I hear such stories -- and of course we hear them routinely now -- I am reminded of the passage in the Book of Mormon about how the Lamanites "loved murder and would drink the blood of beasts." I will never understand what is supposedly so glorious about being a suicide bomber and destroying the lives of innocent people, be they Muslim, infidel, or whatever.

But I agree that the mission of the troops in Iraq should be to allow as many of the terrorists as possible to achieve their goal of martyrdom; however, as much as possible, the troops, rather than the terrorists, should set the terms and conditions under which the great blessing of martyrdom may be obtained. This way, those who want death will have it, while kids seeking only candy will be spared. Makes sense to me, anyway.
